Pain and/or Injury Many people seek treatment because of pain. This may be you!
Pain and injury both change your motor control. Your treatment prescription will involve methods to restore function and resolve your symptoms. In all cases, it's up to the brain to produce pain or not, and in some cases, pain is not always a good indicator of what is wrong. This is especially true if an event to cause an injury is absent. Leading pain researcher Lorimer Moseley author of Explain Pain has a simple example here youtu.be/Sjes9CuN6Ko also here www.tamethebeast.org
Solution: Using manual tissue techniques to assess and address the nerves, fascia, bone, and viscera to respond to what the body is holding. P-DTR to hit the reset button in your brain, and DNS to retrain any compensatory patterns.
Balance and Stability Having good balance is critical for function for good gait, and function of your gait impacts how well force transfers through your body. We use 5 different kinematic systems to move and muscles get tight, weak, strong etc as they keep you upright and balanced. Addressing strength and function of your core muscles may well be the first step in achieving a more balanced, dynamic and stronger body.
Solution: Functional Movement to identify the imbalance in the body, P-DTR to restore motor control, and Manual tissue techniqes to restore deep held tension in tissues.
Scars or Post Surgery Post surgery care of the tissue is vitally important to full recovery. Every time you sustain an injury, or undergo surgery, your tissue is displaced and manual work will help reintegrate the area to function again. I describe scars like gum in your hair. It's a blob that just binds together and doesn't allow what it's stuck to to be functional. What that means to say your hip which was replaced, that c-section scar, or that laparoscopic knee exploration, is the tissue surrounding those areas will not be moving as well as before, causing strain and stress on other parts of your body, and for some people, pain.
Scars also change signal to muscle function. P-DTR restores the "software signal" for both joints and muscles.
Solution: P-DTR to reeducate motor function surrounding areas of scar, and blend of Myofasical techniques, nerve releases and Dolphin Neurostim, to help tissue rehydrate and fibers to move well upon one another once again.
